Scott Larson, PT, MS, OCS
Scott Larson is an Owner and Clinical Director of Downtown Physical Therapy and Dutchtown Physical Therapy in East Baton Rouge and Ascension Parishes.
Scott received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota and his Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Following completion of his Master’s Degree in 1994, he completed a 2-year intensive study in an orthopedic manual skills and lecture series to further his expertise. Scott takes pride in his ability to provide one-on-one individualized care and continues to educate himself on the top manual techniques to improve function for his patients.
Since 2000, Scott has been Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association. He has been certified in the ASTYM treatment system since 2001 and has been part of the teaching team for Performance Dynamics since 2003. He has taught hundreds of physical therapists how to perform ASTYM effectively and how to incorporate this cutting-edge technique into their daily practices. In addition to ASTYM, Scott has completed extensive training in numerous innovative therapy techniques such as dry-needling, ART, and SFMA. He has contributed to a clinical guidelines book for nursing students and has been fortunate enough to speak locally and nationally on various physical therapy topics to educate listeners on the effectiveness of physical therapy intervention. He is a member of the Louisiana Workman’s Compensation Medical Advisory Counsel (MAC), and stays current with all professional memberships.
Scott is married to Ashley Larson, and they have 3 busy and amazing boys. In his “free time” Scott enjoys traveling, cooking, and watching football with his family.
